2015 Annual Meeting, Business Expo and Awards
The gavel was passed from service of two terms, President Charles Cook to 2015 President David McLeighton during time dedicated for this bit of ceremony. Cook served the board as president for two consecutive terms of 2 years each and will be seated as Past President and serve on the executive board for an additional year. McLeighton thanked him for his four years service presenting Cook with plaque of recognition.
Individual of the Year – Awarded to Melinda Horne for her many selfless act in the community and serving on many community service organizations.
Youth of the Year – Awarded to Morris Jones awarded the Crawford County High School senior for service to the school, nutrition personnel, and ROTC and other high school organizations.
Group of the Year – Awarded to Crawford County Retired Educators for the groups contributions for many years in the community as a service organization.
Business of the Year – Awarded to Hudson’s BBQ; Dan Hudson, the company has served the community in many ways and works as a leader among peers as a person and a business.
Posthumously the Unsung Hero Award was given to Pat Roys and accepted by his wife Deloris Roys for his years of work directed to the preservation and restoration efforts to Knoxville County Courthouse and historic records.
Lifetime Achievement given to Jack Causey, Sr. his contributions to Crawford County and Roberta Crawford Chamber of Commerce span nearly 80 years. He was one of the founding fathers of RCCCOC nearly 30 years ago. Owner of business and farm, active member and service always to Roberta United Methodist Church, 30 years of Board of Education member (appointed) and sitting member on the first planning and zoning board for over 25 years. He remains active in the community and his church.
Form for Youth of the YearAwards List of Categories Roberta Crawford County invites you attend the Home Grown-Crawford Strong, Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet/ Business Expo to be held February 16, 2015 at 2559 Walkers Chapel Road Camp Grace Facility. Mercer University Head Football Coach, Bobby Lamb will entertain as well as provide positive visionary views. Invitations will be sent and the cost …$30 per single and $200 for table of eight.
Business Expo, offered by the chamber will begin at 6:00 pm with guests arriving for social time about that time. No cost to chamber members. There will be a cost of $50 to non-members or free with paid single dinner ticket per individual to the banquet. Encouraged for all resident to submit Awards Applications for Individual of the Year, Youth of the Year, Group of the Year and Unsung Hero as well as Lifetime Achievement Awards by February 3, 2015 and are included on the website and may be printed and dropped off at the office located 39 Wright Avenue, Roberta, Georgia 31078 or mailed to the same address. Emailed applications submitted will be accepted titled Awards at firstname.lastname@example.org. These will be directed and judged by group out of county.
