Roberta Crawford County Chamber of Commerce celebrates its members and its legacy annually, this year one member will host …Flint Energies Headquarters Building. beginning at with a Business Expo presented by our members, “Setting our sights on Success” providing a theme open to diversity. You are invited to attend this event to be held at 3 South Macon Street, Reynolds, Georgia 31076 at Flint Energies Headquarters Building.
Tables beautifully decorated to set the theme: Setting our Sights on Success, may be bought before February. Choice tables of 6 for $200 and table seating 10 priced at $325 with individuals seated as singles are $35.
Served a delicious meal catered by Champions Restaurant and Catering company at followed by a program. RCCC Chamber has invited Executive Director Macon/Bibb County Urban Development, Alex Morrison to speak to the meeting theme this year…Setting our Sights on Success. Morrison has left many a foot print in Macon/Bibb urban development and improved areas courting new businesses bringing a rise to tourism dollars increasing numbers of visitors to the area. Tourist are spending time in this civic neighbors lodges, restaurants, cafe’s, shops and all that becomes inviting to visitors.
On that evening, presented at dessert serving, will be the Annual Awards presentation honoring outstanding individuals and groups in our community.
Come one, come as a family or chamber member to enjoy this special celebration provided by the Roberta Crawford County Chamber of Commerce since 1987 when our first Annual Meeting was held.
Business of the Year Named: Roberta Drugs owned by Melanie and David Sandlin for there service going beyond and above to serve their customers. One of Four Businesses of the Quarter as follows: 1st Business of the Quarter – Roberta Drugs; 2nd Business of the Quarter – Southern Rivers Energy; 3rd Business of the Quarter – The Georgia Post; 4th Business of the Quarter – Designs by Dianne.
Individual of the Year: Earline Hollis notation made to services from teacher in 1960’s; Nurse at the Crawford Health Department for 11 years; finally as business manager of Bentley Day Care for two decades and countless involvement with youngsters and young mothers or teens in church and in the community mentoring with love and strict belief in right and wrong.
Youth of the Year: Suzannah Johnson Gold Award Girl Scouts; Nominee Golden Eagle Award in English by Macon Telegraph and Mercer University; Crawford County High School Class of 2018 Salutatorian and community service oriented young lady who has served the community as one of Roberta Chamber of Commerce and Flint Energy Youth Leadership .
Group of the Year – Crawford Health Department was honored noting the many areas going beyond what the day by day expectations are to assist each and every client.
Hero of the Year was given to two candidates who greatly deserved the award for service to the county and many organizations. The first a person who has sheltered the homeless animals as foster care giver until a forever home is found supplying the food, medical needs and costs to bed each of the animals she has recued – Laura Marshall.
The Second named Hero of the Year is Larry Carpenter for his ability to be involved in many areas of the community to include 5K Race Coordinator, reader to youngsters for Farm Bureau, cook for the Musella Baptist Church, Kiwanis secretary and other of many jobs undertaken to serve the community – Larry Carpenter

Awards given members!

Awards given in 2017 presented at the Annual Meeting and Business Expo presentation offered to public by the Chamber of Commerce were Business of the Year for this companies value in promoting tourism through many camps and personalities coming to Camp Grace. Individual of the Year given to tag team, Pete and Cindy Gillispie who have been involved with scouting for decades as well as providing services for the orphanages and churches. Youth of the Year was given to Blair Meldrum; a vivacious Junior at Crawford County High School was presented this award for involvement in county, Farm Bureau, TSA, and Crawford Youth Leadership. Group of the Year was given to the Crawford Young Famers

Awards Presentations in many categories to many of our chamber members and residents!

Reverend Bobby Hamlin and wife Joanne Hamlin, director of Keep Roberta Crawford Beautiful were recipients of the Golden Eagle Award earned in recognition over three decades of service devoted to local youth programs at Holiness Camp and church and community projects. Camp Holiness has been in operations for over six decades and the Hamlin’s have been the leading force for the past 35 years directing young people in there lives and providing guidance. This couple works within the community serving its needs and people as well as within the church, Roberta Evangelical Church where they received the Golden Eagle presented by Sheriff Lewis Walker for the Crawford County Scouts and the troops of scouts nationwide.

In 2016 at the Annual meeting Joanne was given the “Lifetime Achievement Award. Hamlin couple and individually serve in many ways to provide the best foot forward in Crawford County.

2015 Friends of Scouting promote this award raising awareness to young people and parents beneficial attributes created by Boy Scouts nationwide.
